State Golf Recap

This year Kansas had a 2 day state golf tournament.  Kansas was one of only a few states that did not have a 2 day state tournament, so it was finally passed last year.  Everyone played the first day of the tournament and then the top 6 teams moved on to the second day and approximately 18 individuals to make a 54 player field for the second day.  After day 1 we had 4 lady Indians that qualified for the second day of State! We were 6 strokes out of 6th place as a team and only 9 strokes out of 3rd place as a team. The first day was an extremely windy day at Carey Park in Hutchinson, KS. With wind gusts at 45 mph the entire field had higher than normal scores. Kami Bussmann lead the Indians with a 93, Emily Yerman had an 97 and Andi Siebert and Rhys Phipps both came in with a 98. These 4 girls moved on to the second round.

Day 2 the weather was better! Still windy, but not as bad!   Senior Kami Bussmann and Emily Yerman both took home a State medal placing 19th and 20th!  Andi Siebert placed 27th and Rhys Phipps placed 35th!!! We are proud of our Lady Indian Golfers and look forward to next year!!
