MHS Ladies having fun in June and also raising funds!

The girls golf team has had a very productive month! The girls have been having optional practices on Mondays, did a 3 day clinic at Stagg Hill Golf Club, have been playing in a few tournaments and raising money for the golf team!  

On June 8th the girls held a pancake feed at Longhorns Steakhouse.  They made 100% of the tickets they sold!  Longhorns does pancake feeds to help out the community.  They donated all the pancakes, butter, syrup and drinks as well as had their cooking staff there making the pancakes.  The Manhattan HyVee donated sausage links and the girls and their parents did all the rest.  The girls were the waitresses, hostesses and the parents helped with getting the drinks, plating the food, doing the dishes and cleaning up.  It was a GREAT experience for everyone involved.  It brought our girls and their parents closer together, working as a team to serve others and our guests had a wonderful breakfast!

This past Saturday we held the Manhattan High Lady Indians Golf Classic at Colbert Hills Golf Course. It was a 2 person scramble and each team had either have a current MHS girl golfer, current MHS girls coach, MHS girl golfer alum, or former MHS girls coach.  With it being our first time doing this event we were hoping to have at least 10 teams.  We ended up with 15!  We had 6 current golfers, 6 alumni golfers, 3 former coaches and our 2 current coaches!  We also learned that since the MHS Girls Team started at MHS there has only been 4 head coaches and all of them were there on Saturday!  It was an extremely fun day and plan to do it again next year!  Andi Siebert (Junior at MHS) and her dad, Will Siebert, won the tournament with a 10 under par round of 62!
